JOHN RYLANDS LIBRARY, Manchester. Interior view. A staircase in the John Rylands Library in the University of Manchester. It was endowed in memory of John Rylands, a textile manufacturer, and built in the Gothic style to the designs of Basil Champneys between 1890 and 1899. Photographed by G. B. Wood in 1942.
